I have been with the company for over 7 years now but they have decided that I need to go.
Any problem is that they haven't told me. You see-a director about 2 levels above me gave me the heads up that I may want to look for a new job. He was very vague and tried to not give too much information (because he can get into a lot of trouble for telling me). He and I go back and have been friends and colleagues for years now and I thanked him profusely for telling me. I also told him I would never mentionhis name when if if the shit hit the fan. However, I already had an inkling this was coming so all he did was confirm my suspicians. Well the other day, as I am searching for a new job, I come across a job posting that looks strangely familiar. "Hey-I know that!" "Ohhh..I am familair with that too" "That's my specialty" wait a second......... THIS IS MY JOB!! Yup The bastards posted my job on monster. How do I know? The job description was dead on balls accurate and fit the company profile to a T. The thing that gets me though is that you have to apply to the listing to find out what the company is because it's a confidential listing So I have already uploaded my resume and have several part time jobs lined up in the event that it happens sooner rather than later. Well I know it will be sooner because I also found out that they already interviewing candidates. The wheels are turning and I am prepared. My office has been cleaned out and I am just going through the motions right now. I am burning up vacation days because I won't get them when I get axed. I have all my uniforms clean and folded and sitting in my car with an extra set of clothes so I can change when it happens and leave everything here. I guess the worst part is that I bled and sacrificed so much for this company and believed in them so much. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they are about to do to me that has already been done to quite a few before me. I am in the position I am in BECAUSE they did what they did to people before me so I suppose it's payback. I used to be the clean up guy-now I am about to be cleaned out. Wish me luck guys. It's going to be an interesting experience. |

I assume that they have posted your job, despite you being there already and doing it, because they want to hire someone to do your job for less than they are paying you after seven years. What are your thoughts?

If not dramatic savings on your salary or wages, how are you justifying this possible decision? |
