Yeah, me too... it's not like you should worry about the OTHER driver, but heaven forbid your dog that is where it shouldn't be were to die in a fiery crash! If there were only SOME way to stop something like that from happening! ;)
Yet another reason why cats are more awesome than dogs. Cats don't lull you into a false sense of security to let you allow them at the wheel.

i dont take my heeler with me much in my truck,i mostly been driving that lately.she behaves till she sees someone walking then goes somewhat beserk.only place i take her right now if the vets or petco.i know the risks but dont have a carrier to fit right and i know if i put her in she will bark the whole time, but i aint getting a bark shock collar either.
now my husky was well behaved,i could pull the shuolder belt across her and she would sit still and stay quiet.yeah my blue heeler is a little terror.lol. its funny how they will crack down on crap like this but never crosses ther mind to slap a huge fine on street racers,DUI or reckless drivers.

The guy across the street from me rides with a friggin bichon-poo on his lap all the time and seriously almost causes and accident at LEAST once a week that I SEE when backing in/out of his driveway! Wonder how many times in other places he almost wrecks.
However, to the guy who said an animal doesnt belong in a vehicle unless going to the vet: Youre as ignorant as the people driving with a dog on their lap and texting at the same time. My Beagle (who died a year and a half ago now) was like my child. She went EVERYWHERE with me, literally. She behaved, didnt bark at anyone, DID NOT ride on my lap or in the front of my Jeep at all, etc. A dog in a vehicle is absolutely fine as long as its not interfering with the driver. I also get super pissed when people have dogs in the back of trucks driving around town or even animals with their heads out the window. One rock or a big bug and their losing an eye. When I was in high school we lived on a WAY OUT THERE road that only locals drove on. One day some people we didnt know were on our road with a dog in the back. Having 30+/- acres and a farm, we had lots of cats. Well that dog saw one of our cats and jumped from the back of the truck at about 30mph. It broke all of its legs and was EFFED UP! My gramp got into it BIG TIME with the douchers in the truck. They loaded that dog up and took off. My gramp called the cops and reported it. Dont know what happened, but hopefully something. If youre driving around with an animal on your lap, hanging out the window or in the back of a truck, youre an assclown of the first degree and should be ticketed for reckless driving and animal endangerment. If you have an animal with you thats just riding like a person, there is no harm in that at all. That article is simply trying to justify more taxes, and thats whats happening. Common sense people, common sense. Last edited by bigvig; 10-19-2011 at 08:40 PM.. |

4 of the 6 New England states are on the right side of this issue, and I live in one of them. Kennel those mutts. People are shitty drivers and don't need any more distractions.
