@PV: I'm not sure I would have said anything because I'm non-confrontational, but the screaming kid is my breaking point. I would never subject others to my child's tentrum and I expect that same attitude from others. Everything else after is just icing on the cake. |

I hate it when parents can't control their children. They should remember...as soon as they become parents, they become the Ringleader. They are in control. Or rather SHOULD be in control. If their kid is going nuts and doesnt listen to them, remember it doesn't reflect back at the child...it reflects back on THEM!
Also...not a good time to hand-crotch. Maybe the next time a dinner goes right. I mean anytime is a good time to hand-crotch....but some days are better than others.

I used to work the cleaning crew at Wal Mart as a second job about 14 years ago. One night I had to clean the women's bathroom and there was literal shit stain, and spray from the toilet-- to the floor-- and all the way....all the way...all the way up to the ceiling.

No, but it's funny. Side note, I took a large group of kids to a local roller skating rink as part of a summer camp and someone crapped right outside the door of the boys bathroom. Since more than 75% of the kids were from my group, I believe it was one of ours. Luckily I'm friendly with the manager.

First things, first...that family was out of their minds to bring their obviously disgruntled youngling into a restaurant at that time of night. High unsat!
As for when I would have said something...it probably would have been not too long after they arrived actually knowing things would only worsen. I'm quite patient, but as a father myself, any time one of my daughters begins to act unsettled in a public place, I immediately get up and extract them from said place to our car in the parking lot or somewhere else that is not disruptive to the general public. It's just common courtesy. Until they can calm down, they will simply "miss" out on whatever activity we were previously enjoying. Thankfully, my children are well-behaved and I (or their mother) have only had to resort to this a handful of times in our 8 yrs of parenthood. The one thing the parents you spoke of failed to realize is that kids are a ticking time bomb and at any given point can "go off". You have to plan accordingly for that (make sure they are well-rested, fed, comfortable, etc) and probably most importantly, have a plan of action in place if things go awry. These "parents" clearly had no clue. Doomed from the start they were!

Can you go talk to my ex girlfriend We dated for a year and that was one constant piece of contention. She was on disability and basically kept her 3 year old on her schedule which was in bed at 1am and sleep till noon. She would have been that parent you would have seen with her toddler in the store at 11pm... it was frustrating as my son is 6 and I've had him in day care from day 1 (single parent myself, long story) and he's always had a strict bed time and schedule. I agree with you 100% that kids need structure. Quote:
Sorry, I mean $19.88 bean bag chair. They are the lowest price! I truly hate Walmart with a passion. I hate walking behind people when they suddenly stop in the middle of the aisle and walk towards the end cap carrying some garbage that no one really needs, and leave their fucking cart. I move that fucking cart. If it's a woman, they're lucky I don't take their purse, it's always a Coach purse too. Reminds me, gotta get the girlfriend something for Christmas...hmmm. Yeah, 9pm is too late to have a kid out. Now if they did have him at the movie, and from past situations, assuming the kid fell asleep on the mother before the movie was over, WTF would you wake him up the SECOND TIME to take him out of the car and into a restaurant?? Me and my gf really didnt take the kids anywhere til the middle daughter was 8-9ish, and she was the one we could take out.
And on the strangest place someone dropped a duce, not so much strange, but it was a WTF moment. There was this kid that was a few years older then me and my friends, but was "slow" and one summer, I dont know why he didnt go in a stall, but it was at the public pool on the wall in the showers. Needless to say the pool got closed down that day. |
