To be honest, after all the Trans-Ams, lifted Blazers and Mustang I'm tooling around in a 2000 Cherokee Sport with a straight 6, 4.0.
I've decided I'm never selling it. Sure I'll eventually need a new car but I got way too....connected to it. 1st of all it's still an absolute beast in the snow. 2nd it's straight, runs great and with the exception of the small dent in the fender, it looks great. It has 150k on it and I did a head gasket at 100, so no real deep motor issues. It's bone stock as we speak and I'm planning on a headlight upgrade an intake and a cat-back. Nothing crazy but I figure I could spruce it up a bit. I absolutely love that stupid Jeep....and every once in awhile I still lock it up and climb the gravel mounds at the dump site across town. |

I cannot for the life of me get into bikes. I would kill myself on one lol. And though I can identify most cars back to 80s and sometimes 70s along with motors and trim levels, I cannot tell bikes apart to save my life. I cant even tell the brand unless its painted on the body in huge bright letters.

Can't say anything bad about them performance wise or the engineering behind them, plus buying a Honda is just bulletproof...but really it's a sea of look, sound and act-a-likes. I had a hard on for Ducati since I was a kid and really just always thought you had to be rich to get one. The fact is you can get something great for under 10k... ...that is unlike anything else out there. I passed on buying a GSX-R this summer to save a bit more and get one of these this Winter. When I think of bikes now, I think Ducati, BMW and Triumph. A breathe of fresh air. Back to your original statement and back on topic...it's the same thing with kids and these imports. I'm positive there are talented mechanics working on these things, I'm sure some of these cars are fast but the whole Fast and the Furious crowd can suck my nuts. I'm sorry but no matter how fast your Civic is with the ground effects and stickers you got from Pep Boys in the window, it's still does not generate the same feeling and doesnt have the same personality as American Muscle, or Euro panache. The idea of a of putting a fire extinguisher in a car that sounds like a moped with an exhaust leak is just retarded. The kids driving these cars around look like a perfect match too. Do ground effects for these cars come with a side ways douche bag hat and pack of Newports? I used to be WAY into cars and spent alot of time at Raceway Park here in NJ, but this crowd became the majority and it just lost me. Then I got into MX....which is basically the fast and furious crowd high on weed and gay no fear stickers. So selling my 2 bikes wasn't that big of a deal. Anyone who still reads Hot Rod and has an 8 cyl is ok in my book. |

There is a guy at my gym that has an 85' Mustang GT. Hardtop with Centerlines and it sounds f'ing AWESOME.
You dont see those too much but I think they're great. The way that thing runs he must have some kinda sick cam in it, sounds like a fast car and it's just beautiful. |

In my experience the fastest Hondas out there look bone stock, all the money is under the hood and they go for a clean JDM look. But look at all the money you have to put into it to make it -relatively- fast. At the end of the day, its still a Honda. Same goes for SRT Neons and SS Cobalts, though these set up for speed from the factory but are still econoboxes.
The worst thing now is the VW scene. Roofracks, the crooked stickers, slammed on their face with wide wheels and skinny stretched tires. That fad is catching on now with the Honda guys. Shit looks horrible and the majority of these guys are emo hipsters. Of course there are plenty of fake Cobras, riced out Corvettes, fake M3s, etc. Nobody is safe. |

I do custom car audio installs on the side... been getting a lot of little Hondas VW's on 13" wheels coming to me for stereo work. That fad is really catching on around here.
