I'm sure many of you had this happen where a punk speeds into your spot while you patiently waited for it to vacate. What would you do? Start a confrontation?
This happened to my father's friend. He's like 55 years old vs 20 something punk. The old guy called the young guy out. Hey that's my spot. And the punk told him he was too slow. Then the punk got into the old guys face. What happened next was so quick and brief that it ended before it even started. Old guy throws the punk to the ground. Hard enough that he doesn't get up. This guy is a 8th degree Tai Kwon Do black belt. Throwing someone to the ground is the equivalent to breathing for him. He reacted when the punk got too close to him. It was pure reaction. It was a brief verbal exchange and a throw down. The old guy then took off. Did he do the right thing? If I had the ability I probably done the same. Some bullies really do deserve a beating. Fighting in the presence of girlfriends on either side never goes down well. Maybe I'm naive, but I thought martial artists show great deal of restraint because they can defend themselves. What would you do? |

While the punk was down the guy should have gut kicked a few times too then maybe spit on him.

Shit happens, I probably would have just found a different spot while flipping the bird the whole while.

I would have paid good money to see that in person. The reality though is that you never know who is going to pull out a gun, so I learned a long time ago it's better to just let it go no matter how much the punk deserved it. Still, I would totally buy your Dad's friend a beer for being a freaking badass.

Hah..I pulled in behind a guy sitting in the parking lot once---a while back---I was probably 2 feet behind his bumper. I was walking into the store and the guy just goes crazy..screaming at the top of his lungs sounding like a girl as I walked away.
"What you couldn't get any closer? What the fuck is wrong with you?" and then lets out a death curdling roar scream all the while sitting in his car. I turned around and pointed to myself, and said are you talking to me? Then the guy throws up his hands and lets out another girly scream/roar and takes off squealing his tires.... It was crazy I just started laughing as he took off...I mean this is a wal mart parking lot and i was a good 2 feet away...

I was parked in a little plaza by my house. My wife and I walked into one of the stores, looked around for a few minutes and left. When I got outside a lady who worked there was smoking a cigarette. She looks at me and says "hey man, that lady just hit your car". Mind you I drive an 86 Olds Cutlass custom painted orange. So when someone says it's my car, it is never mistaken identity. I walk across the parking lot and see my car. Now I'm thinking the worst so I look down the side as I approach. I don't see anything. So I go to walk around the car and I notice the car in front of me pulled in too far and hit my car. I look and a little old lady is still in the car. I look at her and she looks right at me. She then puts her car in reverse and backs up about 2 feet, throws it in park and gets out. She grabs her purse and runs towards the store. I mean she literally picked up her cane and hauled ass like a damn Olympic sprinter! Mind you, it's 2o clock in the afternoon.I don't really know what the lady thought was going to happen but she never even looked back. I just started laughing because I had no idea what else to do. So I wrote her a note and put it on her windshield. It basically said I didn't care but next time she hits someones car while they are standing right there she should probably at least acknowledge them. She broke my Miami Hurricanes tag I have on the front (30 bucks) but I wasn't about to make a big deal. In reality I could have called the cops and gotten her for a hit and run. But to me that was way overboard. However had it been the other way around, I'm sure she would've had the cops out in a heartbeat.

I typically avoid these types of situations by never waiting for a spot to open up.
I'm annoyed by the people who do this because most of the time they see someone get into their car and they decide they'll now hold up the flow of traffic while waiting for the parked person to get situated and leave the parking spot. 99% of the time the same person holding everyone else up from parking could have parked a few (or 15) spots away and walked to the store by the time the parked car gets out of the spot. That said, the youngan shouldn't have been a prick and gotten in the old guy's face. |
