There is a local BBQ chain here that sells its own specially brewed beer called Reverend Mudbone. Very hoppy goodness. My favorite.
And I love bourbon. http://www.revmudbone.com/ Last edited by camper; 07-12-2008 at 01:11 AM.. |

If it is free...I drinks any beer they have.....'URP
Lately I am on a Miller High Life kick...but only in bottles. Kinda strange my buddies tell me...as I live not 2 miles from America's Oldest Brewery: www.yuengling.com I had my fill of that in highschool though...and it kinda wore off. I do like the Lionshead beer from up north of me...a buddy brought me that once...and I like it...plus the bottle caps have little picture riddles on them you have to solve, which is hella fun to do while drinking....'URP. For those of you who do drink...I have this question...CANS. Are you noticing a different taste....basically...are you tasting the aluminum??? I have tried several brands in cans (part of the free statement above)...and I notice that I can taste the aluminum...sort of like if you stuck a piece of aluminum foil in your mouth and sucked on it. It may be all the recycling...or cheaper liners in the cans...I have no idea...but I no longer buy the cans.

Miller Lite or Miller High Life Light. I don't notice an aluminum taste when drinking from a can. Miller High Life in bottles does taste mighty fine though. I agree if it's free I'll drink any beer URRRPP!

I live in what has been unofficially labeled Beertown USA. Because of the great selections of brews here I have become somewhat of a beer snob. My favorite would be Mirror Pond by Dechuetes Brewery and coming in a close second would be Brideports IPA. If I get into the sauce its usually Makers Mark.

I am confused...I tried literally 7 different brands in cans...and got the same aluminum taste/after taste....maybe it has to do with the bottlers in this area then.

I'm a Scotch man myself but i do love guiness. I'm also half irish/half italian so if its alcohol i'll most likely drink it. Even Shine.

I notice no difference between bottles and cans.
Alabama has an archaic 6% ABV law that a group called Free the Hops is trying to have repealed here. Currently I cannot buy Fat Tire, Dogfish Head, Rogue, or most European brews here; nothing over 6% and 16ozs. I saw a 40oz'r one time when crossing the state line and was amazed. My pharmacist father-in-law drinks Old Milwaukee. Not even Beast, mind you, not even Milwakee's Best! Kinda hurts my heart a little. I bought him a Newcastle once and his eyes lit up, but he will not buy it because of the import price. |
