I am sorry i know this is not about Gi joe but it is in many ways my Grandfather fought in WWII and i was closer to him then anyone in my life.... i am 29 now and i have no idea how i am going to handle this, i am lucky i have my freinds and wife in my life right now but... he was the man who build me bases out of wood for my toys or built em boat when joes needed to hit the high seas and affter all these years owned all the toys and everything he made me... knowing he is not longer in my life or wont see me have children of my own scares me alot... maybe i just dont think i learned enough or i am not the man i see him to be in my eyes... i dont know i just wanted to reach out to my fellow tankers and ask for alittle strengh right now...
oh and to make things more fun i have to work for two more days str8 before i can take time off so i cant even let all my emtions sink in....

I'm sorry, man. Your grandfather sounds like he was a really great guy. Honestly, having to work the next 2 days is kind of a good thing. It will help you keep your mind off of it. The pain of loss never quite goes away but it DOES get better. You have your wife and you have your memories and you will be fine. There will be points when you're thinking how to do something and you'll remember things your grandfather said to you and in this way, the people we love never truly die. Just do your best to honor his life and his memory.

I know my Grandfather is the most admired person in my life and i can't begin to express how deeply hurt i would feel when his time comes!! so i can't imagine how you must feel and my thoughts and prayers for what it's worth are with you at this sad time during your life, i am sorry for your loss...i know you will keep his memory alive in your heart and mind as i do my Grandfather, his words still echo in my mind of how to live a happy life and story's of a time when things were pure! My condolences... I lost 3 of my Grandparents within a 3 year period and now find myself spending as much time as possible with my remaining Grandmother. I was incredibly close to all of them, so I feel your pain.
Hang in there. |
