I'm not exactly new, I've been here a few months now, but My main joe collection is DTC (because I lost my main collection in Hurricane Katrina) I love the site, and the witty banter between other members, this place is like a second family to me, you guys rock, each and every one of you.
I have 2 sons, both like me collect G.I.Joe,my youngest loves sigma 6, we hit the mall outlets on weekends, and Wal-Mart, my oldest has got into the 2.5 line, sigma 6 8 inch, and the 25th, our main focus is outrunning the other when we hit the toy isle for troop building, lucky for me I'm the one who has the wallet, but I enjoy the look on my kids when they get new joes. My main goal however is to learn how to take apart a sigma figure without breaking it, so I can repaint it, we have so many of the same figures (and just so you know, it seems like K-Mart had a bunch of leftover figures from earlier sigma stock because my local Pass Rd store had tons of LT. Stone, and Zartan) but welcome one and all to the Tank! |

Seems Ive been joining some new boards lately, Im getting good at introducing myself. I grew up in the 80's and GI Joe was a huge part of my childhood. I wasnt that "into" the cartoon but was addicted to the comic book and toys. I had a 90% run of the original Marvel comic series and had a decent toy collection. About 10 years ago I sold all of it, along with a couple of other toy lines from my childhood, and concentrated on my Batman collecting. I always regreted selling off my Joe stuff. Thru the years when I went hunting for bat stuff I always checked out the latest Joe offerings, but it wasnt until the 25th line that it really grabbed my interest again. Ive been seling off a part of my Batman collection over the last year and finally got it down to what I wanted it to be. This also opened the oppertunity to start collecting Joe again. Im in the process of acquiring back my Marvel comic run and have also started catching up with the more recent comic series of the last few years. Im really excited about collecting the figs again with this 25th line, and have decided to also reacquire some of the older figures as well. When speaking with a fellow member of LoG, I was directed here. I hope to become a frequent member of your forum and look forward to sharing this common hobby.

I'm assuming this is the "New Guy/Girl" thread, but you know what they say when one "assumes"... :p
Kept hearing about this place over at JBL, and thought I'd finally see what it's all about. Been a Joe fan since I was a little kid (weren't we all?), and Sigma 6 brought me back in full force (much the same way Transformers Classics did). I shed a bitter, hateful tear when the 8"ers got killed, but I'm working hard on a couple of customs. Just picked up the first volume of the old Marvel trades (with the J. Scott Campbell covers) yesterday, so hopefully I won't be talking completely out of nostalgic memory and Sigma-influence... |

I'm Spade from Philadelphia. I'm 33 and i use to collect joes when i was kid. I started out with the original wave one figures that had the non swivel arms. I stop around the time Flint and his wave were released. i still loved them but my parents stopped buying me figures. They said I was too old for toys.
So now I own my own house and have a spare bedroom. I'm making that 3rd bedroom my 25th anniversary room/office. This is the best site I found for Joe discussion. yojoe .com ios the best for references. I look forward to interacting with you. |

Thanks.
I don't know what's better. Seeing charcacters I have in modern new molds or just getting figures I never owned but always wanted like Flint and Beachhead. |

Wassup everyone I'm 28 and I've been enjoying Joes since the 80's. I stay in the ATL and I mostly collect the classic stuff, but I love the 25th. I have a nice size collection and I also love watching the old toons on youtube. So if anyone has seen the new wave around my city let me know.
