Please if anyone on here is computer savy, I could really use some help/advice/direction. I installed a new program on my work computer and saved its location to my personal folder filled with other files. The program didn't run properly so I decided to uninstall it. I used the program's uninstall feature and when it was done the entire contents of my personal folder were empty. Nothing in recycle bin. Nothing anywhere. I called Microsoft and they were less than helpful. I went on Cnet.com and downloaded a file recovery program that was highly rated but it only came up with 9000 old garbage files (temp internet files and the like)
Is there anything I can do to restore my lost files? Please help if you can. Thank you |

Does your pc have an auto recovery feature some pcs make system back ups and you can roll back your system if a program install goes bad or a file gets corrupted. this might be your best bet.

Data revcovery isnt cheap and isnt a sure thing ...
Uninstall programs dont delete to recycle bin ...they delete from the pc If you didnt backup your stuff ..ie restore/rollback point :( Be careful where you install programs in the future

WinXP creates a restore point when you install a new program. I'd try that option first, and always remember to do backups before you install anything.
