How do you divide the line. A nice solid one would be this:
If you enjoy a product and are buying for yourself or a friend you are not a scalper. If you don't collect toys and are leaving Target with a cart full of Joes to go flip on ebay your a scalper There, I am the devil, thus I have been advocated!

BTW, I don't believe scalping exists for e-tailers. And I don't consider someone that sells the odd figure on EBay as an e-tailer.
An e-tailer has to have some kind of presence. Some kind of "store". A scalper would be someone that finds the Whirlwind at Ross for $8 and tries to sell it for $30.

Well, i have nothing against a person making a buck. For instance, i expect to pay WAY over list value for the SDCC Zaranas this summer. I can't go to the con, so the people that do, or obtain them via some other way, will profit.
I don't mind, we both get what we want, they get some extra cash, i get my figures. If they charge more than i want to pay, i find somebody else. I do get frustrated when the "chase" Cobra Commanders get dumped at my local Target, 3 months after they got their last case. It took me a long time to find that one, and obviously somebody bought them all up, then returned them when they didn't skyrocket as expected... |
