You keep parroting the same response, but you conveniently ignore several issues. He is regarded by many professionals in the industry as a brilliant interviewer. As I said before (and you ignored) Barbara Walters called him one of the greatest of our time, and before you get into a "Well, you have your oipinion and I have mine" stupidity, I can substantiate my claim.
Just recently he had on the reporter from Rolling Stone who was set to interview him and was following him around to get material for his story. Well, not only did Howard interview the reporter, he found out he'd written a book on how to pick up chicks (which skyrocketed in sales after it was mentioned), had several thousand girlfriends, and that his current girl was "a little dry". Howard Stern isn't just talented, he's POSITIVELY F***ING GIFTED! David Letterman would cut his own nuts off with a saw to be able to get guests to open up like that. Reporters who get their subject alone in the most comfortable settings possible can't get people to open up like that. Every time a celebrity goes on his show, gossip mags and TV shows around the world end up quoting what is said on the show because the celeb invariably says or reveals something he's never said elsewhere! It's one thing to say you don't like him, but to accuse him of having no talent reveals you as being woefully unable to look past the surface of the subject in question. But let's even put all that aside. If he has no talent, how has he achieved the level of success he has where all his imitators have failed so miserably (except for Bubba the Love Sponge, whose most interesting moment came from being punched in the face by a female wrestler)? And everybody thinks it's hysterical when it's strippers, the homeless, sports fans, parade goers, or random idiots on the street who can't answer questions geared to a fifth-grader, but when ours is the group in the spotlight it's suddenly unfair. Grow up people. If we collect toys and can't laugh at ourselves we're every bit as childish as society thinks. Couldn't have said it better! And I'll add that these last few years on Sirius have been the best he's been. Interviews like Chris Rock with no censorship are priceless. EM
