And if you just do the work out part, you'll stay in shape. I eat at least a whole pizza, 5 or 6 peanut butter jelly sandwiches and a couple hanburgers worth of food a day but I work out like 3 hours a day too so it balances out to me not gaining weight, but not losing it either and staying in shape. I love bad food too much.
I work out like an animal. Train martial arts on occasion, play football 3 months out of the year and lead vocalist in a metal band which is incredibly physically demanding. I fought in Brazillian Jiu Jitsu and Escrima while cross training in Muay Thai...and was a fat pig at almost 240 lbs with an almost 40 in waist. The minute I got serious about diet..and I mean serious I started losing weight. Now that I eat super clean, cheat on occasion and eat the right things at the right time...it's just a different level. Everything I eat, gets eaten at a certain part of the day and depending on what I'm doing....even fruit. People talk about how great fruit is, there is a ton of sugar in it! I eat a piece of fruit with my protien immediately following a workout. This will spike insulin levels and help transport the protein to the torn muscle fiber faster. There are some guys out there that eat pizza for breakfast, walk for 30 min a day and stay trim.....most of us who were way out of shape to begin with don't. And we also hate you guys |

If you want to lose weight just start training for a triathlon or a duathlon. swim/bike/run or run/bike/run. The work outs are intense especially when you start doing brick work outs. A brick work out is when you either bike then run instantly or swim then bike instantly. You'll drop the lbs instantly. Follow all that cardio with eating healthy /no fast food and your golden

P90X is awesome but it's not something to start on...work out slow and get your lung power up and get on a regimented diet...and love the taste of WATER not sports drinks not "Gods Ale" (beer) but water only water...then do p90x

my bad, i thought i put this in the "general discussion" thread, not the joe discussion thread. the powers that be - feel free to move it.
i'm not working out now. years ago i used to be skinny, and weight trained and got up to 215 (I'm 6'2"), and felt great and strong, but too many years behind a desk have got me at about 245. this time around i am looking to drop weight. it looks like these 2 programs are more cardio, which may be what i want this time around. but before i drop the coin, i just wanted some perspective from real people who actually use/used it.

My sister just sold her insanity, its okay but she didn't like it and it didn't help her. I say stick to a balance diet. Don't waste your money on work outs. Eat the right foods and excercise!

I'm a strong P90X proponent! I never thought I'd ever work out with DVD programs, but P90X is the real deal....very challenging, regimented, fun, and totally results oriented. I've done 2 rounds of it, and will do another 12-week round at the end of summer! I totally love P90X, and I think it's cool that this came up on Hisstank!

I pitched and played football at UK and I totally thought I knew what what I was doing. (I did...but I didn't) P90x is different and if you can do it... do it! Tony Horton sucks, but it works.

i've started incorporating the Insanity workout out into my Triathlon training regime. It's tuff, and you need to be in somewhat decent shape before starting it...I have seen results but I've built more muscle, gained flexibility, and improved burst speed. I don't weigh myself I go by definition, and I have gained definition.
