Just wondering if anyone on the Tank is a Toho and "Big G" fan.
I put the thread here because I figured if we have the fans we can chat about all things...movies, toys/collectibles and games. I've always been a big fan of Godzilla and hated the Matthew Broderick crapola version....nothing cooler than when the REAL Godz kicks the BS one's ass in Final Wars. Anyone else here a fan? Anyone have anything cool? Any old school Bandai figures? Stuff from Japan?...What's your favorite movie? |

I have the original Gojira both Japanese and American versions.
Gojira is also one of my favorite death metal bands

I grew up watching Creature Double Feature out of Boston in the early '80s (if you watched TV in the Northeast during the early '80's you KNOW what Im talking about) so yeah, Im a HUGE Godzilla fan...or at least I used to be. Too bad there arent any channels/shows like that anymore. Those old school monster movies were awesome. Had all those toys that are super rare now like the glow-in-the-dark Universal Monsters. The Godzilla toys Godzilla and Shogun WarriorsI Mattel I 1979 I Godzilla's Gang I Plaidstallions.com like this, along with Gre-Gory from Mattel, and the Krusher too. My mom thinks that was the first REAL thing I asked for at Christmas time when I was about 3. Still have him to this day.
Funny thing is, I remember to this day that the scariest movies were Creature from the Black Lagoon and the Planet of the Apes movie when its modern day and they are testing on them. Those movies scared the hell out of me WAY more than the B horror movies of the time. Last edited by bigvig; 03-19-2011 at 08:28 PM.. |

Saturdays there was the cartoon....then Sundays it was either Godzilla, Abbot & Costello or Ma and Pa Kettle movies before football. I even have a few of the old Marvel comics..... The one were Godzilla gets shrunk and is lost in the sewers and fights a rat.

Some of my earliest playtime memories are King Kong versus Godzilla. I don't know if they came in a set, or if the gorilla was even really King Kong, but for some reason King Kong VS Godzilla seems right. I also remember having a smaller Godzilla that had little wheels on the bottom and when you pushed it across the floor real sparks shot out of its mouth. That thing would never make it on the shelves today. The only earlier memory I have is of my Shogun Warriors. If memory serves correct they were taller than I was.

I own the remco glow in the dark figures, the Aurora monster kits and all that other stuff...and those movies are in regular rotation around here Anyone remember those Godzilla "pocket" sets from the early 90's? I have 2..one is MOC the other is basically the shell...lemme see if I have a pic. |

Here is some other "rare" Godzilla stuff that I have laying around, pardon the pics it was from my old phone.
The 1st is a Ban Dai Mark I MechaGodzilla that I got a loooooooong time ago, the rest of the stuff are "bust ups" and stuff my local comic book store got a hold of for me. |
