I can tell you how to deal with a smart ass MP, but it'll cost you rank. :/
Honestly, the more I think of it, the majority of police function is just a tool to get revenue. They rarely actually STOP crime. Most crime you wouldn't actually need them to stop if the government wasn't constantly taking away your rights. Those who seek power rarely do it for the benefit of others.

As much as I respect the very difficult job of police, these stories are sadly common. You did the right thing by keeping your cool and not really argue with him. You would have only made things 1000 times worse.
The other day I saw a cop pull up to a large intersection to make a left turn. The light had just turned red on him, so he turned his lights on to stop the oncoming traffic so he could make the left turn on to an on-ramp. As soon as he made his turn his lights went off. He was not chasing after anybody as the on-ramp was completely empty and no one was in front of him making the same turn. |

haha...
on a serious not if you took it to court, you might should find out where the footage is of your illegal activity, a lot of bases have CC EVERYWHERE, and you could get it pulled for evidence. Might be an option. Ive taken cops to court every single time something BSish happens to me and havent lost yet.

A few years ago, I was out in my dad's boat with 2 of my friends. A game warden pulled me over and wrote me a ticket for making a wake in a no wake zone. As he was doing this, he conveniently ignored the fact that other boaters were speeding too close to shore. A little while later, as we were going home, we noticed he'd pulled into a camp on the lake and was downing a beer. Guess he met his quota for the day.

So I have been working pretty "casually" PT sometimes FT for a paint supply place while doing my own thing on the side. Generally I am just a driver on a fairly dedicated route.
Twice a week I deliver to an Army base here in NJ called Picatinny Arsenal. I've been doing this for almost a year. Each and every time you drive a commercial vehicle in there you have to stop at the security gate, show your licence then pull up to the scale house where they run your DMV stuff, check the van and clear you into the base. I've never had a problem and I'm actually pretty friendly with security at this point. So I'm leaving the maintenance building where I drop my stuff off and heading to the main stretch towards the exit and I see the lights go on behind me. It's Picatinny Arsenal Police...they have their own PD. I was super nice, both hands on the wheel, took my sunglasses off, lowerd the radio etc. He asks for my credentials and as he's looking at he goes "You were going pretty fast around the curve" so I said "Oh, was I over the limit?" because it's a 25 MPH zone, and I CREEP outta that place because they don't f around and will call my boss. He looks up at me and seriously just stares at me and goes..."Well you didn't even slow down at the intersection." pauses and goes "and you went right through a red light" which was total TOTAL bullshit! So I didn't get cocky, very nicely I said "Officer I'm sure I stopped, I'm here twice a week and I've never had an incident" He simply looked at me and goes "Well...whatever." and walks away. So 10 min go by and he walks back and says "Failure to obey traffic signals on base is a 250.00 fine, but I don't feel like writing so I cut you a break and gave you a lesser fine for 125.00". Ok now, here is the thing, not that I'm thrilled to pay 125.00 dollars by driving is literally my livlihood. I am a CDL licenced with a Hazardous Material and Tanker endorsement and more permits from the NJDEP than you can shake a stick at for my business...having said all that I just inquired about a drivers position for CDL trucks and heavy equipment which would be a "real" job until I can get my own thing back 100%....So if this is points or anything? I'm totally f'd. I explained to my boss who looked at the ticket and said it doesnt have anything regarding the company on it so he really didn't care. I asked a cop friend at the gym later and he told me he's 99.99% sure it's not a moving violation and wont come up on an abstract...but I should pay the ticket asap and not screw around with going to court. Anyway he also told me the cop was just being a douche and I shouldnt worry....but yeah 125.00 for something I cant believe I did...because I didnt. |
