There is nothing wrong with starting an auction at $1 since it will go up quickly. I assume its not graded so it will all depend on the condition of the card/bubble/figure.
If the card is REALLY nice it might hit 500 - 600 but tears, dents, etc will bring it down alot. Pics would help/ |

starting price a penny
although if you have your buddy send it to me...i'll open it...make sure all the pieces are there...i'll inspect the joints and the o ring to make sure they're in proper working order...i'll examine the paint applications to validate the accuracy...then i will carefully repackage the item with an identical but updated 25th figure...to which is priceless. no seriously i'd do this...but if you still wanna sell that ole figure start it at 50 with no reserve on a 7 day auction and pray it tops 100 unless it's graded |

Well, since you said "dont tell me a dollar" then .99 cents.....and Im serious!
People want auctions to start low, its a fact. It WILL go up for sure, as long as he writes out the title correctly so people can find it. 1893 GI JOE Duke MOC mint on card sealed Something to that effect. Whenever I see auction prices starting high, even if its lower than the price it will go for, people stray from them for some reason. An MOC 83 Duke is probably safe starting at $50, but if anything it will get FAR MORE bids starting low. Thats a fact if you watch, buy or sell on ebay at all. |

Not quite as much as a MOC Headman, but I'd be willing to trade one for it anyway.

Like, some have said already, start low with an item like this that will sell high. Plus, it's cheaper to list an item for 99 cents as opposed to like 50 bucks.

A MOC Duke is a pretty rare and desirable item. Starting at $1 is a good idea. It WILL sell for a good amount because the lower starting price drives more bids. Someone said you would be lucky to top $100, that is ridiculous. A figure like that will go for way more than $100.
