What do the forearms on Snake Eyes version 4 translate to? Not the Ba Gua tattoo; I mean the awesome writing on the forearms of the 1991 uniform. This seems like a pretty obvious curiosity to me but I was very surprised to not be able to find an answer anywhere. If anyone knows please let me know.

If it's just "Snake Eyes" that's lame. But I guess the SS tattoo says his name so. But that's the clans name so thats ok but if it's that obvious than jokes on me.

Ok so I guess it's "Snake Eyes" I looked up some Japanese Calligraphy and it's pretty close. Still I wish it had a different meaning. What does he forget his name? Or maybe it's so he can just hold up his arm when people ask him his name. You know cuz of the whole unable to talk thing. Sorry for trying to make GI JOE deeper than it is.

According to Larry Hama, it is a symbol called an I-Ching: a Chinese character language that has been around for more than 3,000 years.
This symbol was chosen by Hama because it was easy to remember and draw and it translates to "Water over Fire". Hama said, "...this [symbol] implies a period of waiting-- a coming ending to a conflict, such as the one developed between Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow."
