Went to the store hoping for Destro and Firefly (version 1). All they had in stock was Tomax and Xamot... but I was happy with them.

The year was 1986 and I was 4 years old one of my uncles gave me a 1985 Dusty for x-mas, and no I dont have it. By 1994/1995 I had a Shit load of figs, vehicles and playsets I had over 80 figs that I had gave to my nephew not knowing that I would grow up and go back to collecting JOES. After I gave my collection to my nephew within a month they were all over my brothers back yard stuck in dirt from cars running it over, alot of it made it to the dump thanks to my bro. My brother still lives at the same place till this day, in 2009 well going to pick up a blunt that had fell from my ear onto the ground I notice something stuck in the hard mud it was a JOE feet so I pulled it out and it was Budo. I wonder till this day how much I could have got for my collection I guess I'll never know.

Can't remember what figure mine was but i got into Joes when i bought issue 1 of the marvel comic run on import back in 82, but the toys weren't released over here at that time.
A friend of my moms was going to Las Vegas on holiday a year or so later and my mom asked her to look out for anything Joe. She never told me about this, so imagine my surprise when she suddenly gave me the boxed Weapon Transport out of the blue! I had to wait a few more years till we got Joes properly in the UK but that WT was my first and it still holds a special place in my collection.

1982 Rock N' Roll. not sure which arm variation. He's long gone.
Torpedo was the 2nd one I got. Same fate as Rock N Roll and most of my vintage Star Wars figures (and lone Cylon from Battlestar Galactica). |
