Cool...you must have gotten that one from me. Not sure which set of castings you got...were they hard or soft rubber? As for it working...I'm sure it will...I part out ones that don't work for customs.
If they're the Hard castings, they're just plain Alumilite Resin and the easiest way to pain them would be just to grab a can of Krylon Spray paint. If they're the flexible ones they're Alumilite Flex 60...I'm not sure you'll find a paint that will stay on perfectly...but I'd think a higher quality paint like Games Workshop or Model Masters would work well enough for display. |

How to remove decals and refresh with baby oil
first remove any unwanted decals and i usually completely disassemble the vehicle. use baby oil when disassembling it so you dont cause stress marks or break anything. i use a small portion cut out of an old t shirt soaked in baby oil and lather it all over and let it sit for however long you want. the hydrofoil has a lot of nooks and crannies so id use a toothbrush soaked to get into those areas. after it has soaked you need to remove the baby oil using rubbing alcohol. another larger piece of t shirt soaked will work. this is where you scrub off any sticker residue. you may need to use more than one small rag here to get all the oil off. id also let it sit for a day and then repeat the alcohol process until i had the oil removed satisfactorily. to get the oil out of the nooks and crannies use a tooth brush and flush with warm water. ***for tougher residue you can let the item soak for over 24 hours in baby oil. or just use goo gone which wont need to sit quite as long and will come off easier.*** id lube the moving parts (missile launcher tabs) again with baby oil and a q tip upon reassembly and maybe the tabs that hold the body together. hope that helps!
