**Please let me know if this is not the right section for this post**
I found this website after doing some on-line research about G.I. Joe (80's stuff) pricing and checklists. Over the next few weeks I'm going to un-box all the stuff that's been sitting in my parent's basement for 20+ years. I will probably keep a few choice items and unload the rest. Not that I don't like the stuff, I would like to raise some cash for my current hobbies. I'm here because I would like to see my collection go to people who will appreciate it. My goal is to not throw anything away. All my G.I. Joe stuff is from when I was a kid so it was played with (at the beach, in the snow, or generally anywhere dirt/sand/water was involved). That being said, I was that kid that took immaculate care of his toys. I cleaned them when they were dirty and made sure no parts were left behind. While my stuff is worn, most of it is complete. I would appreciate any suggestions or advice on selling the stuff. I'm being realistic and don't expect to get rich I'd prefer to not use FeeBay. I don't expect huge bids for these items and the fees will probably wipe out any profit. Over the next few weeks, I'm going to catalog what I have. I know all of it is from the first three or four series - approximately 1982 to 1986. There may be a few later pieces thrown in. I quickly glanced at what I have and it falls into six categories: 1. Vehicles - Really worn and probably only good for parts 2. Vehicles - Worn, but complete. Sell as a whole, but not as Mint 3. Vehicles - Good condition and complete 4. Figures - Worn and/or missing parts - good for parts only 5. Figures - Complete with minor wear (some may have loose joints) 6. Figures - Excellent condition, no missing parts Some of my figures have loose joints. I'm not sure how this will affect the value if the figure is still in otherwise good condition. Also, many of my figs have completely disintegrated or missing rubber bands. I've heard that this is not a big deal since these can be purchased and replaced. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I appreciate any help and/or suggestions. Brian G. Atlanta, GA |
