The whole 2000 decade had a mash of multiple sculpts, from O-ring, Joe vs Cobra, Valor vs Venom, Sigma 6, the 25th and movie sculpts. Now it's the start of the new decade. Why not bring in the new stuff and not look back in the past. We're not in the eighties anymore. We don't have a "Delorian" or a "Hot Tub Time Machine" to bring us back to the good 'ol days. Some of the new fans we have now weren't even born in the eighties.
We need to accept change, whether we likes it or not. Ya Dig?

There you go, jumping on another person like the pic in your profile, you seem to want to be the big dog in which really amounts to nothing.

No wonder why I dislike posting and reading most of the threads. People like gunslinger are always there to tell you how stupid you are for such a thought. Not everyone believes that the 25th/ME line was horrible and there are quite a few characters that still need to be made. Also, a lot of people could say the same thing about ROC as they do with the 25th/ME thread. The ROC figures do not sell anymore and sit forever on the shelves. Hasbro is canceling later waves and moving back as well as restructuring the line. I can walk in right now and pick up multiple Desert Viper and Jungle Assault Ripcord figures on the Wal-Mart toy-shelves if I wanted to. They do not sell right now. At least in my area, they do not. That is a fact. They sit there with the same staleness which in turn reminds me of the Avatar and Star Trek stuff that does not sell. Another thing, the 25th/ME gave us a lot more characters rather than have every wave like Roc with Ripcord, Scarlett and Duke. I am just saying....
the fact that you jump to such ridiculous conclusions is a valid criticism. there is nothing to back up your claims that the movie interrupted the completion of years up to 1989 in the 25th line. it's just dumb to say so. you have no idea where the brand was heading absent of the movie. |

My point is: Why do you feel like yo have to bash this thread? If you don't like it, move on. There are plenty of threads here that I think are stupid, but I don't bother commenting on them. The point of a forum like this is so that people can gather with like-minded people and discuss things, and throwing in a "this thread is stupid" comment, without actually adding to the discussion, is rude. |

I JUST WANT A LIFELINE FIG THAT I DON'T HAVE TO MAKE MYSELF!!! That's all. Ok maybe Lowlight, Sci-fi, Zander, Zarana, Jinx, Footloose, Airtight, as well just to name few..... I don't blame RoC for 25th/ME fig that didn't come out however. It doesn't mean I liked RoC either.

I don't think anyone thinks the 25th line was horrible, so what is your point. the problem with your post was the basic flaw in logic I posted -- 1) the assumption that absent of the movie the 25th line would have continued as opposed to another incarnation, and 2)that Hasbro would have made figures in some order that completed every year up to 1989, which there is no precedent for.
the fact that you jump to such ridiculous conclusions is a valid criticism. there is nothing to back up your claims that the movie interrupted the completion of years up to 1989 in the 25th line. it's just dumb to say so. you have no idea where the brand was heading absent of the movie. 1. Hasbro was continually turning out new characters with the 25th line, moving along to the later years. 2. That line was very successful., and therefore probably would have continued if not for the movie interruption. 3. He likes the 25th stuff, and therefore would have preferred it over the ROC line. Also, you may have missed, but in his initial post, he used the words "most likely." that's specualtion, not fact. Even he would admit that there was no guarantee the 25th line would have continued. I agree with him. If the ROC line hadn't taken over, we would have some more characters in the 25th line. |

I think you're missing the point gunslingercbr.
The OP is upset that Hasbro didn't re do the entire ARAH line through '89 in the ME style. I don't think the OP would have minded it if Hasbro had done both, updates through '89 and RoC, but in essence he's simply stating his dissatisfaction with not getting the former along with the latter. Instead of pointing out the lack of logic in the way he stated his feelings, perhaps you should try to understand the meat of his post, offer some sympathy, and then support to help him come around and enjoy what he did get; brand new GI Joe figs. We aren't islands, and should all strive to be bridges. |
