Chuck it all in HOT water, you may have to scrub some gunk off.
Hot water kills all Mold spores can make you very sick if you inhale any(microscopic).

I've found toys that seems as though mold or something has discolored them, even after a good cleaning. Here's a fun, disgusting adventure I had a while back.

I once bought a hasbro 12 inch Obi-wan for dirt cheap. It had mold inside the un-opended box. Washes off with hot water.

I've noticed that some of my older figures are starting to get a stickey feel to them. I wonder why this is and what can be done.

I bought a Defiant from a guy and it had mold inside. I made a bleach and soap solution and it took care of the problem.

remember to wear gloves before you mess around with bleach/mold/otherflesheatingbacteria.

Mold can grow on just about anything, and you can't always see it either. Like some of the others said, you can wash the stuff with a MILD bleach solution of approximately 1 cup bleach to 1 gallon of water. You can add some soap to the solution as well to help remove any residue that's on the plastic.
As a rule, this should be good enough for the application that you're using it for. However, if you have mold in your home and you're trying to contain it/remediate it, you would be better served using a EPA approved, mold remediation product. I personally use Sporicidin for mold. It's more effective than the bleach solution. |
