Didn't know there was thread, I'm in!
Honestly, I love the 25th line, but o-rings is where it all began. I think vintage collections are a lot more interesting than just a bunch of new stuff!

I don't know, to me it's just more fun, and more rewarding as a whole, especially when you take your time and try to get the vintage stuff in super-mint condition. Don't get me wrong - the new stuff is great, and it's definitely a substantial part of my collection, but buying stuff only at retail just doesn't interest me all that much.

Totally. There's also a lot more to collect, interesting stuff like the past convention exclusives and international releases. Even regular production stuff from the years when you stopped collecting as a kid, you know? I had no idea about any of the cool figures from 1990, for example.

Thanks man, put it over there, next to the case of Jack.

I don't post here often, but I'm in for sure.
I wasn't going to buy any 25th stuff, but got a bit hooked for while (they are excellent figures for the most part). Now I'm in the process of selling most of it off, along with most of the 2000-2006 non-ARAH O-ring figures. I'm trying not to think to much about how much wonderful ARAH goodness I could have bought had I not wasted so much money on stuff that has zero sentimental and nostalgic value to me. The longer I collect, the more I appreciate *the* G.I. Joe I grew up with. Nothing can compare to the originals. ARAH, O-Rings, and the Words of Hama forever. YO-O! YO-JOE! |
