I asked this on yojoe a little while back. Thought I'd ask it here as well.
I've always wondered what everybody does with their vintage collections. Do you have it all out on display? Do you have to rotate what is on display? Is it all neatly separated and boxed up? Do you have dioramas set up? Do you only display your favorite things? Do you play with them when you are bored? Are they just kinda scattered about your house? Did you sell your collection to make room for the current stuff? The response I got on yojoe mostly was "everything is stored away" or "some things are on display." It seems not many vintage collections see much action these days due to fear of breaking something. I still mess with my small vintage collection quite a bit. How bout you? |

My large vintage collection is currently in storage, but I would prefer to display it. My apartment doesn't have a lot more room to display the stuff and the fact that I hope to move within the next 6 months doesn't make it worth dragging out. But someday.

ARAH makes up 95% of my Joe room. I collect vintage and buy everything else that pays homage (respectfully) to ARAH.

I am in the midst of gathering all of my ARAH figures, weapons, and small vehicles to photo and post here before I post them to ebay. I really like the newer sculpts and have been a fan favorite of Snake-Eyes since seeing him at Montgomery Wards in the early 80's. Look for a post on the boards sometime soon. I am hoping someone can invest in the lot to make use of it for customs and whatnot.

I traded mostly all my figures for 25th and kept most of the vehicles for display.

Have every figure made on display and am in the process of getting every vehicle on display as well as soon as I get my third toy room finished. Vehicle shelves are a lot less uniform than figure shelves, where just about any shelf will do. I'd have the space now if I only collected joes, but all the other lines take up so much space. Funny though that my He-Man, Star Wars, Transformers and various other 80's lines combined take up the same amount of space as just the GI Joe line by itself. Just an amazing amount of vehicles in the vintage line.

I keep the figures sealed in Tupperware (in Ziplocs), but I break them out on occasion to enjoy them. The bigger vehicles collect dust since they're on display. The others are in a linen closet to protect them from harm.
