I remember believing this plane was based on a real plane back then as the x-19 models were everywhere and being real disapointed when I found out they weren't, then being real happy when prototypes of the x-19 were apparently discovered via Google earth in an airplane Junkyard years ago, Arizona's boneyard.
edit: and hey look what I found! https://www.ebay.com/itm/25501447539...0aAjktEALw_wcB and this was another what f plane back in the day I wish was 1:18 https://www.ebay.com/itm/23488561058...oaAmjtEALw_wcB

I nabbed one on eBay while headed home from Chattanooga, TN where I had attended the last JoeConn. Got it at a verrry good price! It was complete except for the pilot and filecard (and maybe didn't come with the blueprints)

Beautiful aircraft, together with the Skystriker they top my GI Joe "vehicle" list. Managed to complete one a couple of years ago as I didn't want to pay full price which was about $150+ at the time. Recently got another for a great price which I plan to customize with the landing gear intact, came with most missiles/bombs but it's missing cockpit canopy and cone. Don't really care about the pilot as I only use jets with modern figures. It's just a fantastic jet all around!

i had one that was incomplete i got at a fleamarket pretty cheap when i was a kid. i had no way to complete it. it was broken and the previous owner sprayed a little of black spray paint on it, i guess to test something they were painting. i still played with it, but i wasnt really proud of it. im almost pretty sure i threw out the arm things that pulled the guns out when the wings opened, because the thing was just in total pieces. i could never get anything to work and overall it was a frustrating toy.
somehow, i fell into a second one and inexplicably i threw out the other one. anyway, it took just a little while before the RAH bubble started to come back around and i completed this sucker down to those little arm things that open the side wings and the nose cone. i even vaguely remember throwing out a mamba and i have 3 complete ones now. it's such a cool ship. im glad i have one. |
