Hi there ,
I just need some advice ,i want to take the connecting bar off of the vertical vane for my Killer whale ,but i'm worried if i pull it off i could snap the peg because the part is old and fragile ,is there a way i could do it without breaking it ? Would heating the plastic with a hair dryer help ? |

All you have to do is look at it funny & it will break.
Avoid it if you can.

Honestly, I wouldn't even try. Too fragile.

I wouldn't try heating it, I'm no physicist, but heat causes things to expand, which I would guess would result in a tighter fit and therefore be harder to pull off. The WD40 sounds like your best bet.....

I wouldnt risk it, alot of pieces are easily broken on the ARAH vehicles, maybe yu could try heating it with a hairdryer, but its risky.

Thanks for the suggestions ,but i think i will get a pair of snips and just cut the link bar apart ,i don't like to damage any ARAH parts but i won't risk damaging an extremely rare part either such as a vertical directional vane ,for a more common link bar part .

I have done this multiple times. I simply open needle nose pliers a little and slip the tips under the connecting rod on either side of the vane post while the vane is upside-down. then you can push the pin out with the ip of a flat-head screwdriver. The plier tips give support to the rod while the flat-head screwdriver is able to push the tip out enough to release the connection. No stress is placed on the shaft of the vane post.
Hope this helps.
