Does anyone have a schematic on the microphone or a source for repairs? I have one and it makes some static noise with a battery (speaker appears intact) but no other sounds. Wondering if I can repair the circuit board or have it fixed.

He does but it's just a parts swap. I am looking for some electrical guidance on the actual circuit board. I'm sure there's someone who can "read" these or at least have an idea on how to navigate a repair.

i would see about getting a second one before i do that.

not that this is any help, but to give you an idea how much things can go south fast - i wanted to put a louder speaker, get rid of a missile firing gimmick but still keep the sound effect, and relocate the batteries on a 2010 millennium falcon. i fried 3 boards. each time i fried it i had to buy an entirely new falcon at 50+ bucks each.

another option you could do is if you get a second one, if you're confident enough you can learn arduino to create the same effects with new technology. or even circuit bend a toy microphone into it.

For checking for bad components on circuit boards, I imagine there are some guides out there but, I really enjoy watching the YouTube channel "Tronics Fix". He's always finding grounds, bad capacitors, and bad traces. He mostly works on consoles though.

I've been poking around youtube. Lots of good info. I'm trying to check every little thing with this one as it cost a pretty penny. I think it can be fixed but I am not great with electronics.

I'm trying to figure out the basic tests to see how far I can go with diagnosis. So far, no visible issues whatsoever.

I'll keep plugging away and if I have a break through I'll post here. I may end up going to a repair place but I hate to get beat up on labor when all new parts will total up to a few dollars...
