I'm fairly sure this figure was the last Joe that I collected. It was a gift, and I remember looking him over and feeling like it was time to find other interests. May have got Crystal Ball or Raptor after him, but these were the nails in my collection.

In objective terms, this figure is goofy AF. His sculpt is overly busy. His colors are garish. His accessories are weird. Why does he need an antennae on the back of his head, or satellite dishes on his wrists?

The entire concept for the figure pushes G.I. Joe way over the line from any supposed "military realism" into science-fiction fantasy. For that group of collectors who complain about G.I. Joe "jumping the shark" in 1987, this is probably the figure they think of first.

And yet, I don't know. I like him. He kind of works, somehow. 7/10.

I like this figure and I could see him getting a Classified glow-up like Crystal Ball did.

To be fair, this had already started happening in 1982 and was in full effect by 1984. And I would say that it was a good thing!

Oh, I agree. I'm not one of those "Death of the line!" people. But I still hear that all the time in Facebook groups, and 1987 is always the cut-off point where they think G.I. Joe got too weird and they stopped collecting.

There was plenty of goofy sci-fi and fantasy nonsense in G.I. Joe all along (hello, Zartan's color-changing skin!), but the combination of Cobra-La, Battle Force 2000, and figures like Psyche-Out all in the same year just went too far over the top for a lot of people.

Gave him a 5. He's a run of the mill figure. Never had him as a kid but as an adult collector I appreciate the figure, I like the colors. It just seems to work for me. The pistol is cool too.

5 for me, I can't think of a more middling figure, especially from the wave he was a part of. I love the SUper Sonic Fighters version, though. That figure is incredibly nostalgic for me.

I usually prefer more military/realistic looking figures, but Psyche-out is cool in my book. Yes, he's a sci-fi/fantasy lookin' freak but its more hi-tech based than lame (like Raptor was.)

And his specialty is way cool. The Joe team definitely needs a psychological warfare specialist. The one thing I couldn't stand about him is that neon green shirt. Gross!! It glows so bright, he'd be the first thing shot on the battlefield. I can only give him a 7 due to his terrible fashion sense.

This is one I honestly can't decide on. Not great, not terrible, kinda weird, kinda interesting...I really have no strong opinion one way or the other. Hmmm....
