A really mixed bag.
His sculpt is awesome! Teeming with all sorts of cool gear and details: The knuckle knife, the twin daggers, cool shades, a freakin' sawed-off strapped to his leg. And I think he may be the only vintage figure to wear a ribbed commando sweater. But yeah, the bright orange ruins it. I could almost buy the safety-orange vest and helmet for an operator of heavy machinery, but the shotgun, holster and booties are just too much. His filecard is entertaining and I enjoyed his first appearance in the comic, which was true to character and had a comedic flair. Sculpt: 9 Colors: 3 No accessories: -1 Cool characterization: +1 Averages out to a 6. I have seen some recolored customs of him that show what could have been if Hasbro went with better colors. I grabbed one off Joe Customs and attached it, cool colors make him look badass! |

They renamed him 'Treadmark' over here. But he was still called Skidmark in the comic when he appeared in the reprints in Transformers. I didn't get the joke at the time.
6/10 figure. ISTR he had different colours in the comic. |

He's a 10. I loved the figure, and Desert Fox. His filecard made him sound like they could have done an Odd Couple issue of the comic with him and Clutch.
Anything orange is automatically cool. But those greenish/yellow pants are his only failing.

A 1. His sculpting is fine and parts are perfect for custom but as released, Skidmark is easily the second worst figure in the ARAH lineup.

6 for me. The colors don't bug me too much on him, it works for being a vehicle driver. Take away the color scheme and it bumps him up to an 8 as the sculpt is great. The Desert Fox was a great toy but the front axles really prevent me from going out and getting one. In my "joeverse" Skidmark is a VAMP Driver.

Another cool design but bad colors. I would've much preferred the colors used in the original pinup art:

I didn't have Skidmark as a kid, so I don't have the nostalgic love of him. But the 88 lineup as a whole is one of my favorite years of the line, and I do really like the figure. Sure, the orange and lime green isn't the most practical color scheme, but he looks good alongside the rest of his colleagues and he's got a great sculpt. And I love his vehicle, so that doesn't hurt, either.

Never had him or the vehicle as a kid. Came to know him later on. He's not bad but not a hit for me.

Never had this one. I'll give him a 5... doesn't look great, doesn't look terrible. Middle of the pack.
