Sgt. Stalker (v1) is my favourite looking figure of part 6. Even though Snake Eyes is my favourite Joe, I just don't like his designs here. Stalker looks great and comes with a ton of stuff.

Sgt. Stalker (v1) - Seemed more late 90's in character design.
Sgt. Stalker (v2) - Better colors. Shipwreck (v5) - Media at the time showed him with long sleeves, but figure had short ones. Also, he was rather tall. Shock Viper (v2) - Maybe too much like a toned down Ice Cream Soldier. Skull Buster (v1) - I read he was a tribute to Skeletor. Bad accessories, okay for being metallic purple. Snake Eyes (v10) - Blech. Like GI JOE extreme at 3 3/4" Snake Eyes (v11) - Still bleccch. Snake Eyes (v13) - Never had this one. Snake Eyes (v14) - Extra articulation, great on paper. Actual sculpting is so bulky and loaded down that he can't do a 2 handed sword grip. Sure Fire (v2) - They went back to Shockwave v2's head. I found that interesting. He's fine as a generic joe, but I still don't like the character and I'm not sure why he was chosen for the ARAH repaint wave. |

Imagine Deadpool or Carnage colors on 83 or 85 Snake Eyes, but applied in red and black camo. It wouldn't make any sense, but it would look cool, and that was enough to make Alley Viper hugely popular. Or Megatron's light gray, black and purple applied in some form to a Viper or even someone like Major Bludd. The end result would be pretty neat. |

A few of these suffer from the mix of reasonable design but terrible sculpting, like Stalker here. And Nunchuck on the other page.

There are some really nice figures in this selection. Snake Eyes V14 is great and even V13 is interesting. Skull Buster is cool and the Shock Viper is pretty good. This Shipwreck sets a new standard for what Shipwreck should probably look like (though I'll always love the OG).
But that V1 Sgt. Stalker is so badass with his collar and beret. He makes me think of Bernie Casey's character in Spies Like Us and that rules. If we could get this design in black as a Night Force Stalker in Classified that would be amazing. |
