I never owned the set, just a few figures gotten from ebay lots. Back in the day it looked bad, quality bad. I liked the 1983 figures and the set was a good idea, the execution was rushed and shame to this day.
Breaker (v2) - How some folks somewhere thought these were good substitutes...I'd like to know. "Well, we ere running the Roadblock V2 mold for the waist, so why not use the chest, too. And the only helmetless ball joint heads we were using were Ace and Hawk, so we went Hawk..." Grunt (v4) - Why is hair black and why Snake-Eyes V1 legs? Rock 'n Roll (v5) - Roadblock V2 with Hawk V2 head. Some rare ones are in black face. LOL. As a parts kitbash it could work as a new guy, not Rock and/or Roll. Scarlett (v3) - Almost Halloween candy colors. Or a female Annihilator. Sgt. Zap (v1) - He escaped from a burning building. Otherwise I guess he was okay. Never had one. Short-Fuse (v2) - He went ginger on us. He looks okay. Not sure I ever had one. Snake Eyes (v7) - BARRRF! That Roadblock waist when they had the real one! WHY? And they kept with it into the 2000's. Stalker (v6) - the camo almost looks like a custom. Not bad. |

I almost went with RnR just to troll, but Stalker it is, not half bad.

Had to go with Stalker, loved the camo pattern they went with on him. Snake Eyes too was good, although why did they use the wrong waist?
Whatever they did to mix up the waist on Snake Eyes, they messed things up for every release after that, including many of the OG 13 comic pack figures. It's like they lost that old original waist. But the club used it on Falcon in a con set around the same time those comic packs were coming out. Just didn't make sense. I guess it was a case of someone labeled the waist wrong, like the mix up with the Cobra Trooper/Cobra Officer molds being labelled Python Patrol and no one at Hasbro then knew enough about the line to know they were the same. I assume that also happened with the 86 Vipers and how their waist and legs were last used with Dr. Mindbender. |
