Sadly my vintage 84 Storm Shadow is turning yellow inside the card! I purchased it about 2 years ago & he was pearly white now hes turning brown/yellow! Been in storage too! What a bummer I guess there really is no fix right? I tried scouring the internet to just end up with people ruining their figure, you guys have any solutions?

Carded? Nope, it's now yellow. You could open it and whiten it with peroxide, but even that's only a temporary fix. This is 100% why I sold my '84 when the retro version came out.

I watched a segment Carson from 3D Joes did in which he discussed this and buying really expensive carded figures and then have the o-ring pop. I don't even have any vintage carded figures and it me sick to my stomach.

No there is really no fix for yellowing. I got out of carded vintage Star Wars and Joe figures because it was too tough to care for them and I could not stop the biodegradation process. I even have figures from 2007 that are yellowing and have been in room temperature forever.

Just enjoy the vintage-ness, like a yellowed Wampa.

Well, that, and the fact that there's no purer form of nostalgia that I know of. Hell, I'd even open a 1985 Snake Eyes on a NM card, provided I didn't have to pay $3000 to do so.

What exactly causes the white to yellow? I've heard sunlight. In my case, I have a 1993 Shark 9000 that I got used/open on EBay a couple years ago. It arrived looking pristine and white. I've kept it in my basement which is cool and gets no direct sunlight. It is not a humid basement either. In the last couple years, the Shark 9000 has started to yellow. How was it fine from 1993 to 2021 (or whenever I got it) and then suddenly it starts to yellow?
My 1992 GIJOE HQ looks terrible. The gray has all turned dark yellow. It is also in my basement. If there isn't a retro Star Wars collecting fan site called yellowedwampa.com, there should be. Ha.
