I have owned my FLAGG going on for fourteen years now and have, sadly, never been able to assemble or display it. Never had the space. I'm at this point where I am reevaluating my collecting goals and have decided to sell my vintage collection including the FLAGG. I need to unpack it, clean it up, and assess what is what. What tabs may be broken, etc. I feel like I am missing 2-3 pieces. One of them is the rear deck fantail for sure which I did pick up a reproduction of way back when.
Anyway, I was talking with my wife the other night, and the notion hit of whether I should try and sell it whole or part out to help complete other FLAGGs. Opinions or advice from others who have sold their FLAGGs, please. The idea of shipping it terrifies me. When I got it; the seller shipped it in a Power Wheels box! |

If you just want it all gone, take it to Dallas Vintage Toys. They will definitely take it.
If you want top dollar, you're going to have a lot of legwork ahead of you. If you have any modern stuff though, DVT probably won't take that.

Selling the FLAGG will be a nightmare to ship. Your best bet is selling locally or to anyone willing to come and pick it up.
Selling piece by piece will open yourself up to more out-of-state options, but bear in mind that you'll likely end up with the tower and deck when all is said and done. Most people collecting the FLAGG already have those pieces and someone just getting started probably won't want to buy JUST the deck and tower.

Tips I've seen are to sell locally to avoid dealing with shipping and to resist the urge to assemble the entire thing to take pictures since you could break a piece in the process...just inventory instead. Good luck.

I apologize. I thought I had email notifications on to let me know when anyone replied. Seems that I did not.
I am no longer in the DFW area. I need to update my location. I'm near Galveston now. The only LCS here I could imagine being interested is Bedrock and you're not getting much from them in my experience. I'm not really at a point where I just want things gone. I have a large collection that extends beyond GI Joe. I just came upon this mindset that a lot of it...doesn't bother me if it is here or not. I figured that was the sign that I needed to redefine my goals. The tips and suggestions are really helpful because I would have legitimately assembled it to take pictures without considering the tabs. One of the few missing pieces though is the top of the tower. It was severely damaged in transit when I bought it and, at the time, wasn't expensive (in comparison) to replace it. I never replaced it though and now, in my opinion, I assume no one is going to want a FLAGG missing part of the tower. Maybe I am overthinking this having Houston to Galveston to find a buyer. I need to take a weekend to get it inventoried and evaluated. The hard and rare pieces are all here and undamaged (except the fantail which now I don't know if it is a repro or not after digging through my eBay purchases and being able to see the auction title)...or was the last time I took a peak at a box of parts. |

Unfortunately I don't need a Flagg or else I'd work something out with you. I'm more of a Cobra collector and prefer to build my own dioramas.
