I don't know what to say about the line, at this point. If someone were to hand me any of these vehicles, aside from the repaints of previous stuff, I likely wouldn't be able to identify them as G.I. Joe toys. They look like knockoffs made from cheap plastic. It was obvious in previous years that Hasbro had been cutting G.I. Joe's budget, but it seems even more obvious now.
I dunno... I guess I choose the Monster Blaster APC. Link to Part 2: https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...-part-2-a.html

I still want a Monster Blaster but I never owned it. I've had two Shark 9000s in my life and I love that vehicle. I sold my first one during the two weeks as a teenager where I was thinking it was a good idea to get rid of most of my toys. It didn't take me long to regret that decision.

I LOVE the Ghoststriker. Such a great plane and the inclusion of the handle and such def made "flying" it a lot more practical.

I had to actually bring up Yojoe for this one, I had almost checked out at this point, and couldn't even remember what I had. Turns out it was the Mudbuster...

1993 was actually the year I came back to G.I. Joe full-on after a few years of being in-and-out of collecting. But I was really only in it for the figures, so I'd only buy vehicles if they came with drivers.
Of this lot, the Shark 9000 was pretty cool and I kind of regret selling it, but it was just too big for me. (I lived in an apartment at the time and had no space for it.) Knowing how that white plastic is prone to discoloring, I'm sure it'd be piss yellow by now, anyway. |

I have very fond memories of the GhostStriker.
I was 8 yrs old when I got it for Christmas and I remember projecting and blasting baddies on my basement walls. Also the ACE figure that comes with it is pretty stellar in my opinion. I wouldn't mind seeing this as a Haslab given it's more manageable size over the Skystriker. But I know all the older Joe fans would hate that idea. I mean, how cool is this commercial?? Detonator - I like that Cobra got a big ground vehicle that wasn't also a submarine, but the nerf thing was silly. Its other weapons were merely defensive.
Dino-Hunter - I like the Desert Fox, so this wasn't a bad jeep. I miss the gun and shooting dinos with grappling hooks is comical. Ghoststriker X-16 - It was fun and held two figures. You didn't need batteries to still play with like the motorized ground vehicles. Ice Snake - It wasn't bad, needed earlier in the line treatment. At least it has a steering column. The downside is that it was another arctic dedicated Cobra vehicle, and in a year with so few Cobra vehicles. Also GI JOE and Cobra buy the same tires and roll cages. Monster Blaster A.P.C. - The side seats needed more head room. The modded BUGG hovercraft used for the front guns was too noticeable for me. I like it, but it needed tweaking. Mudbuster - Basic design wasn't too bad. Bumper attack was amusing. But no driver controls, that kills it. Was a hole in the dash and a plug-in steering wheel that much extra cost, Hasbro? Shark 9000 - I like the idea, a mid sized boat, it holds a few figures. But aesthetically, it's messy looking. It didn't help that the launcher was broken on mine, so less fun with that. Also, water vehicle with paper labels. Come on, Hasbro Pinch those pennies. |
