Edelweiss - Mountain Bicycle Guide
Edelweiss can yodle with the best of them, melt the enemy's hearts into a fondue and when the field radio is out, she can still call down an artillery strike with a glockenspiel. * The Swiss troops used to call their Alpenflage camo 'Fruit Salad Pajamas'. The reddish color was thought to be effective against early night vision devices and the pattern is more or less a copy of a late WWII German design. Turns out the colors worked well in the forests most seasons due to fallen leaves but stick out when in the open in summer. Last edited by Joeness; 10-09-2023 at 05:29 PM.. |

Cordon Bleu - Pathfinder
Cordon Bleu had dreams of becoming a top chef but found the French paratroopers a better calling. In fact, even his mother hates his cooking so at least with heated rations he can't do much wrong. * I wanted to do head-to-toe camo, but it might have made a less attractive figure. I gave him a plain flak jacket and a parade-ground beret to break it up. The jacket, pelvis, and pants are from Low Light. The short-sleeved shirt - which the French did issue - is from Shipwreck. This camo pattern wasn't widely issued until the early nineties, so it strays a bit from my eighties theme. It was however seen on helmet covers in that period IIRC. Panzerfaust - anti-tank trooper
Panzerfaust loves beer and he really loves sausages. He chose the bazooka because it looks like a sausage, the ammo because it looks like a sausage...what can I say, the man loves sausage. * The body is mostly Footloose; the head is Repeater. The camo was conceptually hard, but I used clusters of bubbles with the elliptical tool to get that German Flecktarn look. Would love to give him a rifle, but the only G3 was Outback's, which was so lame as to be unrecognizable. Last edited by Joeness; 09-22-2023 at 05:26 AM.. |

Um, I think you mean yodel. A yokel is a term of abuse for a country bumpkin in the UK, like a hillbilly or a redneck in America.

Now that was just a Freudian slip. I must have been listening to talk radio in the background. I would never [deliberately] refer to our rural brethren as yokels, bumpkins, hicks, hillbillies, rednecks or hayseeds...especially not hayseeds.
