If I had the Terrordrome that would be my vote. But I didn't so a shout out to the Stun, of which my brother "stunned" by stomping on it repeatedly.

Some of those big sets were loss leaders, it's said. So...I remember the drome being $60 at retail.

I liked the look of the Stun, and the drivers, the antennae and the rear gunner, but hated the split-apart feature, and the big guns on the side looked goofy and awkward.

Easily the Terror Drome.
I never had one as a kid, but I now own one as an adult. I got a Terror Drome at a pretty decent price from a collector who met me half way in Memphis. He and his wife had lunch with my wife and me, it was pretty cool. I customized it with a wash to dirty it up and some of the custom stickers from Toyhax. I'll post pics one day ;-) Like my comparison of the Killer WHALE to the Millennium Falcon, the Terror Drome is the Death Star of the GIJoe toy line, except it's like one huge battle platform in a circle. TRIVIA FACT: The Terror Drome w/Firebat and AVAC was actually designed and sculpted up in 1983/1984 and was originally intended to be part of 1985's lineup. For whatever reason, it was delayed until 1986. I've never heard or seen exactly why, but my theory is that retailers either balked at Hasbro having 2 giant items in the same year and pushed back (taking up more real estate on shelves) or maybe Hasbro themselves realized it would hurt sales two have 2 big items in the same year competing against each other. But then 1987 saw both the Defiant and the MCC, so who really knows why it was pushed back a whole year.

a long time ago I saw the history of Gijoe somwhere posted online. and Gijoe A Real American hero was actually best selling toy in america in 1986 thats why they had such large playsets cause they were raking in the money lol. Even watched the show the toys that made us and Kirk Bozigian said it was diobolical how much money they made the first 5 years lol

It was the best selling boys' toy around that time, but I believe Barbie still outsold it.
