As I said in the original Part 1 poll for this year, I think the Flagg is just too large to be practical as a toy. I wouldn't know where to put it or what to do with it if I had one. For its size, it's also lacking in play features compared to other playsets like the Tactical Battle Platform, G.I. Joe HQ, Mobile Command Center, or Defiant.

That said, I don't think it should be dismissed, either. The ambition of the thing was very audacious for a kids' toy in 1985. It's a hell of a statement piece to signal what a powerhouse brand G.I. Joe was at the time. Even decades later, it still has a legendary aura.

While the base offering might be lacking, the things some people have been able to accomplish, by building the superstructure underneath, is amazing.

it's not a practical toy if you have to build something to make it playable.

the only modifications going on for a defiant are people putting some plywood under it because the axels are nearly 40 years old.

The Defiant wouldn't have happened if Hasbro hadn't pulled off the Flagg. Nobody had ever attempted a children's toy that large or expensive before.

Good point.

Edit after parking and thinking on it. Big playsets have been done. Barbie dreamhouse was probably it until the flag came around.
