Hello everyone! I admit that I'm a transformers fan that uses tfw a lot but I thought this site would be a good place to ask for help.
I recently received a pretty large collection of figures/vehicles from the 80s and I am going about identifying them in order to sell everything off. Either individually or as a group. I'm told it was the majority of things available from around 83 to 89. If anyone was curious, I have a ongoing spreadsheet here for the vehicles: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing And here are some pictures to show the scope of this task https://imgur.com/a/hplgxVj I have been using this site to manually go through it all and assemble everything to the best of my ability: https://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/ But I have a few questions: 1. Is there any kind of widely used resource to identify parts? I have a bunch of pieces leftover that I probably missed in my first pass and having a part identifier would be super helpful. I know there is equivalent sites for transformers so I was hoping there was one for Joes as well. 2. Is there an up to date price guide for things like these? I check ebay sold listings but they seem kind of all over the place. 3. What is the best avenue to sell the big vehicles typically? I don't know if anyone would pay to ship them any kind of significant distance so I was starting to look up local toy stores that might want to buy from me. 4. Maybe too hard to answer just by looking at the pictures/spreadsheet but would anyone be able to give a very rough estimate as to the value of everything? Like if I approached a toy store to take it all, what would be a reasonable offer? 5. What is the most common way to ship the figures individually? They are pretty small, so does anyone use padded envelopes or is the expectation to use small boxes even for a single figure? I know a bunch about transformers so this has been fun looking through the other big Hasbro property of the 80s! It has been crazy to see the scale of some of these vehicles. 1) YoJoe.com has “whobit” for figure accessories. It works by color then item type. It then shows you pics to to compare. Click on the pic that matches and it will tell you who it came with.
https://www.yojoe.com/action/whobit/ All others…eBay is always best for top dollar. But you’ll have to put in the work. You can sell it here as well in the B/S/T pages. Make the post and then PM the interested Tankers. Work out a deal. What ever the value of the lot is, a vintage toy store will typically give 30%-50% of value because they are flipping it. |

Oh man... I would have so much fun sorting through all of that.

I've used B/S/T on tfw2005 before so I'm sure I can go that route here as well. I assume there are subreddits and facebook groups as well. The toy store route is kind of a hail mary thing. If they offer enough then I may take it just so I can get half my bedroom back lol. |

It has been cool seeing the progression from realistic military theming to just straight up sci-fi as the 80s seemed to progress. I also underestimated just how big a USS Flagg was! |

Nice collection. Maybe think about separating out the Sears exclusives, they may be easier and more profitable to move than some of the items that were more widely available.
For example, recent sale on one of the items in your pile: https://www.ebay.com/itm/385705165490 |

Oh thanks! I didn't see that whobit tool. That should be useful.

That will reduce the likelihood and value of a one time sale. |

They say ?time is money? and in this case that is true. If you are willing to put in the leg work to organize/complete/list these items individually on eBay, you?d get the most value. You walk into a toy store with this lot, they have to complete/display and most importantly profit. You lose at least 50%.
If you are planning to sell as one, be careful not to let anyone cherry pick any highly desirable items. That will reduce the likelihood and value of a one time sale. I'm just wary of shipping a flagg across the country or something, but maybe I'll get lucky and find a local upstate New Yorker! Quote:

I've flipped transformers collections before so I know what you mean. As I put more work in I am leaning towards individual sales since I do find that more fun.
I'm just wary of shipping a flagg across the country or something, but maybe I'll get lucky and find a local upstate New Yorker! Didn't that come in a two pack with a helicopter? I have both of them so that is a good reference. Is there any kind of master list online of exclusives? Were all the dreadnok vehicles exclusive? Also there are Tankers from every state and Joe fans. I get not wanting to ship the Flag, TerrorDrome, etc. Sell the small valuable stuff for top dollar on eBay. Post large stuff here for local pickup only. Use Craigslist as well. Just my two cents. YoJoe.com has everything by year. Hasbro stamped most parts with the year on it. Although reused molds sometimes have the original mold date. But that?s the beauty of YoJoe.com. If you look up the Skyhawk 1984, it should show you where else it?s mold was used for exclusives and sub-teams.
