Shockwave is an expert in urban concealment. He can hide in a pizza box, impersonate an ambulance siren and disguise himself as a brick. You won't know he's coming until it's too late, and with public transport what is it these days, he's always running late.

Shockwave (above) was an easy scalp. I gave him an experimental MOUT pattern (in reality it was used once about a decade later), same as I did for my urban version of Repeater from the same year. They already had the squares, so all I had to do was play with the colors.
Shockwave was another figure with a decent gun model, so I didn't see the need to change that bit. https://thefull9.net/u-s-urban-mout-t-patt-camo/ Last edited by Joeness; 09-12-2023 at 04:46 AM.. |

All Alpine needed was a regulation pair of pants and a weapon suitable for a mountaineer. It was already a reasonable figure to begin with. Other small adjustments were khaki headgear instead of black, a beige shirt instead of white, and black boots instead of green.
For the rifle, I modified (shrink and squash) the scope from Frostbite's M16A1 to a hunting scope rather than a night vision and added a strap because Alpine needs to climb with it. This seems like a more useful weapon for an army mountaineer and the ranges he'd be dealing with. I hope they weren't making some eighties stereotype reference with the Tec-9 that the original figure had. Not a fan of the grapple-gun either but whatever. Hardball got his nickname another way entirely. Best not mentioned.

Anyone with "questions" about Mutt's droopy moustache and penchant for leather masks and kneepads, is welcome to have a word with the dog about it...

Updated my first take on Leatherneck to make it look more like a 1980s toy factory had done it. See page 2

Footloose is a grunt's grunt. He sleeps in muddy foxholes, eats only Army rations and shits in a plastic bag. His wife has given up telling him to come back inside for the night.

General Hawk took one look at Spirit and told him to "Ditch that threadbare denim shirt and get some proper uniform on by 0800!"
The Shaman made the sign of the evil eye at his commander, threatened him with an ancient Navajo curse, and the general never mentioned it again. Last edited by Joeness; 09-12-2023 at 05:01 AM.. |
