First post, hopefully in the correct place.
So I finally got me a used Flagg and am in the process of restoring it. It definitely came needing some TLC. First project was to remove stickers and unwarp the deck. I used 0000 steel wool and goo gone with many of the sections and just a paper towel and goo gone on the center deck so I have a bit of a color/scratch difference on the deck where the stickers go. Not sure if it will matter much as I have a new sticker set on the way but is there a way to deal with the steel wool effect now just to get things looking uniform? I will say that the unwarping worked out very well. The center deck had about a 1/4 inch drop or more (5-8mm) to the stern deck on the port side. Now everything lines up very well, just used a heat gun and gentle persuasion with metal rods and weights. I had designed and printed my own deck clips if anyone is wondering what they are looking at. Last edited by lightning530; 06-06-2022 at 12:21 PM.. |

Thanks for sharing this! I look forward to seeing your progress. At some point I'll be (re)acquiring a Flagg for myself.
