So I finally got a Cobra Maggot. It's a fun toy, but has some comical drawbacks:
- The gun emplacement can't turn if it's separated into its 3 components. It's locked firing at one axis. - How would they remove the top portion in the field to even get it to this point? Wouldn't the turret weight thousands of pounds? It would require at least 4 superhuman men (probably BATs) to lift it considering the size of the cannon. Wouldn't the turret on legs just fall backward as soon as it fired? It seems to make more sense as either mobile artillery, OR a mobile command center that splits, but not both. |

The tv commercial explains everything. A giant hand lifts the turret off. Actually, the top part deploys its legs, and the bottom drives out from underneath. Too bad the toy cannot do that.

MAGGOT was originally an acronym. Mobile Assault Gun Ground Ordinance Terminal. (Someone got Ordinance and Ordnance mixed up.)
Why it got the boot? There were far worse acronyms. I mean "Negator" in F.A.N.G. ![]() |

W.O.R.M.S. was too busy trying to find his helmet antenna to worry about any of that other stuff!

I never had one but always thought it was a cool vehicle. Every now and then Cobra got some "solid military" stuff, like an A-10 or Raven or a big-ass mobile howitzer. They certainly had enough weird stuff like pogo balls or the Buzz Boar.

The Maggot is a Cobra vehicle from the A Real American Hero series. Joe could end up in a big disaster! Cobra's got a Maggot with a laser blaster that really impresses me of it in a specialty. The Cobra Maggot serves as a forward assault vehicle, portable war room, and long-range ordnance, all that in one. With a four-man group, the Maggot can without much of a stretch offer help for itself utilizing its versatile assault unit, plot direction from its war room, and annihilate any objective with its long-range 155mm ordinance.

Wait, if it's a laser cannon then how can it be artillery?
