Yes, you're exactly right, but I don't know if Canada had any Night Force or not at their store locations.

I like the idea of Tiger Force better - using captured Cobra vehicles to operate deep behind enemy lines. Too bad their colors are so unrealistic for their mission.

Thanks for the info. The cardback art is great on them. I love the variation to the regular card.

Night Force was US TRU exclusive, TF was released regularly and across Europe and Brazil, with both Brazil and Europe getting TF figures that the US didn't. (And that each other didn't. TF Outback was released in Brazil, albeit with a different file card bio, they also got a modified Dusty called Felino, a TF Airtight and Shipwreck; UK/Europe got TF Outback, Hit&Run, Blizzard, Psyche-Out, Tunnel Rat and Sneak-Peek. The only Sneak-Peek released in the UK)

No, there were others, when you consider the foreign figure versions and some convention exclusives.

Examples include Duke, Beachhead, Roadblock, Sneak Peek, and Tunnel Rat.

Yeah, that's why I never heard of Night Force until I was an adult collector. I did eventually get all the NF figures. However, all the NF vehicles, where I was able to, I replaced the bright red parts with the original parts so it wasn't so bright.

The only one I left the red parts was the Night Striker. The Hovercraft was my favourite vehicle and I got that one MISB (I think I traded my NES system for it) so I left that one unmodified after I put it together.

I never actually had the Night Boomer, I just used the mail order APC as my stand in Night Boomer.

Night Force seems doomed from the start. Limited product availability, no television commercials, no comic book or cartoon episode representation, not even a mention in the Hasbro 1988 Catalog which came with the other G.I. Joe toys.

As described, Night Force specializes in nighttime surveillance and defensive operations, using the element of surprise to vanquish the enemy, but when this team began, many of the five original vehicle choices were questionable...

Night Blaster: Let's shake the ground with this heavy tracked mobile artillery piece which Cobra recently invented a year ago?

Night Raider: Let's rumble up to Cobra in the darkness on a blacked-out Triple 'T' and leap at them Sgt. Slaughter style?

Night Shade: Let's make the S.H.A.R.C. submersible less noticeable under water, and try not to drown as we exit the craft?

Night Storm: Let's drive around in the darkness like Backstop would in the Persuader, and fire this massive laser cannon?

Night Striker: Let's make a really noisy entry from the shore on this blacked out Killer W.H.A.L.E. hovercraft?

The next year, Hasbro offered much better but more expensive vehicle options to the Night Force...

Night Ray: Let's rapidly approach the land on a blacked-out Cobra Moray Hydrofoil and then cut the engine and watch you all swim to shore?

Night Scrambler: (a much better idea) Let's slowly and quietly cross the water in this Amphibious Personnel Carrier and insert the Joes near the tree line, letting them walk a few kilometers.

Night Boomer: Let's do airstrikes with a blacked out Skystriker XP-14F combat jet using the cover of darkness! Just one question, does anyone on the team know how to fly it?

Twenty-four years later, the G.I. Joe Collectors' Club would solve that problem by introducing Freestyle, the Night Force fighter pilot.

I hope the upcoming Night Force Ripcord comes on a Night Force card rather than a regular card.
