Even as a kid I could see a cheap, tacky, hastily tossed together repaint.
I suppose Night Force is the least offensive of them. Slaughter's Marauder's with that obtrusive blue, and Tiger Force with the hideous Battle Cat colors were really awful. But nothing was worse than Python Patrol. What a putrid color scheme. And to sully the CRIMSON Guard, a character whose very NAME describes his color, with that bizarre yellow and gray mishmash was pure sacrilege. But point fully taken otherwise XD

This is a tough one. Tiger Force is goofy looking, but better characters got the Tiger Force treatment. You can also tell the Tiger Force guys belong to the same unit. Night Force characters look more realistic, and the vehicles are TOTALLY cool with all the black and the glow-in-the-dark stickers. I love both, but I voted Night Force. BTW, I had stopped playing with Joes by the time these originally came out. I've enjoyed picking up the vintage pieces as an adult.

Love them both so I'll vote for the underdog.

not going to pick.
as far as collecting is concerned, it's easier and less expensive to complete tigerforce. |

Anyhow, I just enjoy the Tiger Force figures myself. I like the odd repaint motif and they have a great style for children(which is why I think Hasbro went with TF in the Classified figures-to attract younger crowds). Plus the vehicles are great. I was getting out of playing with toys (on my own) when they came out, but I did get Tiger Force Flint. When I lost his gun, I gave him Gung-Ho's accessory back grenade launcher, with the strap and butt cut off, to make a new shot gun.
I don't think the figures look that great for the most part, but the vehicles are great. I had some younger cousins and I would play GI Joe with them after I stopped on my own. They got some Night Force and I thought they were pretty neat, but I think they ended up in their attic and we never really played with them. I don't know if I even knew they were TRU exclusives. Wish I had bought some at the time. If they had come out when I was in high school or college I might have. I voted Night Force. |

i also saw slaughters marauders mentioned and yeah, still not going to pick between all three groups. operation dragonfire was bad ass. if anything, thanks to operation dragonfire - python patrol had double the fight from gijoe from tiger force and slaughters marauders. |

Tiger Force all the way for me. The biggest draw to TF for me as a kid was that they were releasing figures that hadn't been on the shelves in a few years. Some of the TF figures were the only versions of those characters I ever had. I had missed them the first time around. Duke was especially high on my want list and so getting him was awesome. In fact, TF Duke is one of my top 2 favorite figures.
Night Force was a fun concept but there were 2 things that held me back from getting them. 1 - the characters had been released recently and most were still available in stores in their original colors. 2 - releasing them in 2 packs meant you had to pay twice as much to get 2 figures together and in most cases I only wanted 1 of the figures from a 2 pack. |

Night Force is a cooler concept, but Tiger Force has more iconic characters.

I never knew Night Force existed until I got the Desimone guide, they never came to Canada AFAIK. So Tiger Force for me, got some of the earlier figures I missed that way.
