No, I left those things on, I don't think I even realized that they were mines.

The mine deployment made it of limited use to me, but I think it makes a nice tractor for pulling the Python ASP.
1988 was the year of missile launching machines: IMP, Adder, RPV (close enough) and Rolling Thunder. Even the Warthog had two big yellow missle on top. |

Cool to read everyone's replies, and glad to hear the love for the IMP. It's small, but feels like a pretty menacing little vehicle. The thought of landmines, and what they indiscriminately do in real life, in and of itself is disturbing, which brings a level of terror to such a small vehicle. I never gave it much thought as I never had it as a kid, but the more I've encountered it through seeing catalog images and the old toy commercial on YouTube, has really peaked my interest and given me a new found appreciation for it.
I also tend to favor small to medium sized vehicles, as I always found them easier to maneuver and play with, so this IMP is definitely going to be a nice addition to my small vehicle collection. |

The IMP wasn't really on my radar as a kid but I finally picked one up a few years ago and didn't really expect to like it as much as I do. To me, the HISS, ASP, and MAGGOT were the backbone of Cobra's ground forces and the IMP just fits in so nicely with the look and feel of those three. Blocky plate armor, weird angles, and uniquely shaped treads. Equal parts menacing death machine and whimsical nonsense. Just a perfect Cobra vehicle.

The IMP is an awesome vehicle. I think I have an old one somewhere painted up to be a recovery vehicle, or combat tractor of sorts.

I just got done reading IDW's Snake Eyes: Agent of Cobra, which featured Toxo-Vipers (v1 and v2) and Imps.

I always used my B.A.T.S. and the Imps to cover Cobra fleeing the field, i.e. hold up and harass the Joes giving time for Cobra to get away... but I've got a few Imps.
For me the neon Orange colored Paralyzer and Parasite perplexed me, those would have been so much better in black, or some darker color. |
