What opinion does everyone have on what size o-rings the use? I saw one sight that said #9 from Home Depot is the size to use. They seem a little tight to me. I don't like the idea of buying on eBay you really don't know what you are going to get.

I would highly recommend buying the o-rings offered at Smalljoes.com. They work great and you can get 100 of them for $6. Their replacement accessory hose is also great and easy to cut to size and is cheap as well.

Figures from 1982-1984 require thinner o-rings than those from 1985 on.

Josh is spot on. I generally use #8 plumbers O-Rings for 82-84 and #9 for 85 and beyond. I haven't had issues with them. They are pretty tight, but I only had one broken T-hook result and that one was corroded to begin with.

[QUOTE=Cryoguns;5453889] NEVER USE THIS ON CLEAR PARTS!
I learned this a couple months ago when using it on a batch of canopies I was restoring. Slathered onto the adhesive residue and came back the next morning to them all noticeably distressed and melt marks. Hated having to scout Ebay for parts.... Would Bestine give similar results or it just a very reduced time to keep it on the clear plastic? |

Stinky stuff, but it hasn't hurt anything that I've tried it on so far. Not nearly as robust as the orange gel I use on regular parts, though. |
