So the VAMP/AWE preference thread got me thinking about this. The VAMP is tiny, relatively speaking, much like the original military Jeep & MUTT are tiny compared to today's vehicles. So, in today's world, is the VAMP actually more like a 2-seater UTV (along the lines of a Polaris RZR and etc)? Actually, UTVs today are pretty friggin' massive, but anyway... it would make sense for the Joes to utilize UTV-type rigs more than Humvees or those heavily-armored Osh Kosh things the army is replacing them with.

Considering that the VAMP was based of the Lamborghini Cheetah I would say it has more in common with the Humvee. It could also fall into being a hybrid of the 2.

I know all about the LM001, and the VAMP ain't that. At all. Way too tiny. I'm talking about the relative size of it and what it could be today.

Size wise the Polaris Dagor A1 comes close, even though it's a 4 seater.

The Joes have the AWE Striker and Tiger Paw if they want something smaller than the Vamp.

The AWE Striker is a dune buggy not not same thing as the Cheetah/Vamp, regardless of toy size.
If you want smaller and lighter off road vehicles as compared to a Humvee or the GI JOE Hammer or Vamp than you have the AWE Striker and the Tiger Paw. Further we have The Cobra Scorpion and GI JOE Mud Buster are already basically a DOGAR -like vehicle. |
