Admittedly, I was never a fan of Gung-Ho's design.

Probably the S.N.A.K.E. It was cool in the Sunbow mini, but not a practical toy. The legs of mine always fell apart and then tipped over.

Trip-wire....sculpt is kinda weak. Not much character. Limited use. Boring.
Honestly I don’t think there are any weak vehicles. I could say the bomb disposal or the weapons transport but that would feel like a cop out because those are so minor. More like battle field accessories then vehicles or playsets. GI Joe hit home runs left and right from 82-85. |

I can't remember which year the Tactical Battle Platform (oil rig) was released, but that was pretty much the high-point for me. |

Generally I love 82-85, and I didn't start really skipping vehicles in my collection until 86 (aside from the FLAGG , but I'd own one in a heartbeat if I had the room). But there are a few exceptions:
The PAC/RATs. Never owned them, no interest in the set. The 85 Armadillo earns an honorable mention as being a pretty dippy design for a tank with low ground clearance & a huge overhang in front, along with little protection for the driver. I never really liked the design so I didn't get one until about a year and a half ago when I was filling some gaps in my collection. Still doesn't dazzle me. The Manta is also a bit silly with that giant manta-shaped cutout in the middle of the sail. Completely destroys the usability of it as any kind of practical wind sail. As for figures, my only passes on the entire 1982-1985 cast of characters are Hawk v1 and Grand Slam. Both of these were just too bland for my tastes where I much prefer the 86 Hawk, and I can't even recall Grand Slam in the comics or cartoon unless it was as a brief cameo. I do think it's worth mentioning Blowtorch's messed up combination of a backpack that has the supports molded upside down, or his flamethrower hose is too short. Cool concept but poor execution. |

I like everything from 1982 - 1985. All of it is classic!
I am lucky because I have almost all the figures from 1983-1985. I am missing 1983 Hawk, 1983 Grand Slam (silver pads), and 1985 Listen'n'Fun Tripwire. I've never owned most of the vehicles released from 1982-1985 but they are very cool. |

I love every vintage figure from 1982 to 1994, even the bad ones.
