I'd say for me personally, Skymate's glider didn't work well enough for me to like using it in play, Interrogator's copter was kind of the same, it just flew off into the walls.

I always hated Cutter. To this day his voice on the cartoon annoys the hell out of me. He just talks so damn slow.
Also didn't care for the Slugger as a vehicle. I'm surprised by the gripes on Torpedo. Did nobody else just swap an Airborne head on him? It makes him even better. |

82-85 were hard to pick on but Quick kick for me. No shirt no shoes no service. With a tank and machine gun based story this guy is Bringing a knife to a gun fight and was always cannon fodder. My friend had him. I could not find that figure and when I finally found him in 86 I was like this dude is a martial arts champion but brings nothing to my battles and left him on the pegs. Why he had Time in the cartoon or comics I can?t understand. Another one was deep six. He was a cool appearance and cool character but the figure couldn?t do anything.

i dont have much love for any swivel necks no swivel mid arm figures from 82 and 83, up to 84.
pretty much ball joint on is my jam. if i am picking figures? im picking scarlett v1 and covergirl, because their head sculpts are total garbage. i've always hated torpedo's head sculpt, it's garbage. grunt's head sculpt that was used more than it's worth is also, garbage. there's a reason hasbro left grunt and steeler and clutch on the parallel world - someone realized how bad those head sculpts were compared to the rest of the characters on the cartoon and had the self awareness to be embarrassed about it and fix that problem. im glad these specific characters are not in my window of the era i want to complete they are so bad. i have a flagg. it was given to me for free in 2001. after setting it up in my studio college bedroom apt thing, laying next to it putting some toys on it - i was like "so...what's the big deal?" "where do i put this?" 15 years later i bought a house and i planned to set it up finally because surely, 14 years ago i was crazy. i spent a few months planning a way to display this stupid thing in my cave - on top of a shelf with plywood bottom. it turned out i would need to add legs to that plywood and it would be standing into the middle of the room about eye level. there's no where to put it in my house. i have the superstructure set up. that's it. this stupid thing is a shelf. sooooo many people have been bamboozled into thinking this stupid thing is this glorious fantastic thing. it's nothing but a thing to put your toys on. like a shelf. it's too big to even use as a useful shelf. you want a flagg? you need to have a room with the space dedicated for a table to put this stupid thing on to put your toys on. like a shelf. i hate the hype for this thing. why do i have it? i dont know. the superstructure is ok by itself. the rest of this thing is in the attic. comparatively, the defiant is a masterpiece. it's a playset. it's big. it's awesome. and i cant afford one or have the space to put one; but you can bet i would try to find somewhere to put it if that was given to me. not store my toys on. like a shelf. but it's not so stupidly cumbersome finding a spot for it wouldnt need a remodel. i might consider trading my incomplete flagg for a complete functioning defiant locally. it's not worth the trouble of selling or trading. |
