A hybrid of 6 and 2. The kid plays and I'm either building, painting or putting stickers on something for him to use with them.

This sounds super fun. Maybe setup a game like D&D with the figures. I'd totally be up for some missions.

Thanks for all the responses. It’s nice to hear how everyone interacts with and enjoys their collections. My kid is a little older now, but when she was younger we would set up and have battles together. We even made a Rocky Mountain base with vehicle storage, elevator, vehicle ramp etc. out of foam board and plaster of Paris. Now that my daughter is older I still continue to set them up and have them battle... I really find the function of toys to be a great vehicle for exploring story telling and character development.

THIS! I’ve actually been thinking of how the D&D model of play could be applied to playing with Joes. I really don’t know much about D&D, but what little I have read sounds super fun.

For me, it's a little bit of #1, 5, and 6. My childhood vintage Joes are mainly in storage. My 25th/modern era Joes have been handed down to my kids and get lots of playtime with them. My Classified figures are posed all over my desk and get lots of attention as fidget toys during long, boring conference calls. ;)

The Marauder guys had a failed Kickstarter a few years ago for a D&D style role playing game with their figures. I think some of the guys here at HT wrote the story behind the game and a MTF novel. I'm not a D&D guy, but I backed that just to support a great company.

I usually pop mine on the shelf, then every now and again (well, frequently) take 'em down, pose 'em, pop 'em on my desk while I'm drawing and all that sort. :P
