So yes, I've read quite a bit and have experimented myself, but haven't found the right product or proportion.
The usual peroxide solution I think it is completely flawed; I have tried with many things, and they have either re-yellowed, or in the case of blueish figures, like Shockwave or Cobra Commander v1, have become strangely whitish. Moreover, this affects plastic 100 % sure, some more, some less. As a curious side note, I left a yellowed vintage Power Ranger White on the sun, applying peroxide just on his torso, but he became whiter all over, where I had not applied any substance much to my amazement. The bad thing is that it just got less yellow, and after some months back in the shelf, he is as bad as he started or worst. I've heard some people using bleach, but I tried it and it just ruined the screws and metal parts. Anyone has found or heard about a miraculous solution besides fine repainting?
