MOBAT Protoype Auctioned off

This auctioned off today. It's a nice piece of History. My wife and I discussed buying it, but it went out of our range real quick.

Here's the description:

"Description: United States.1981-1982
Original hand sculpted and assembled proving model for the 1982 Hasbro G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero M.O.B.A.T. (Multi-Ordinance Battle Tank) toy vehicle. The tank comes directly from the collection of Bill Araujo, former Director of Advanced Manufacturing Engineering at Hasbro and G.I. Joe brand legend. He recounts personally having to study a real-life MBT-70 tank for inspiration and design cues. This proving model utilized three electric motors compared to the two within the standard production model. The tank now shows wear to the hand painted surface and decals as expected of age and being a prototype. Truly an incredible piece of G.I. Joe history."

awesome!
production mobat only uses one motor. so maybe this one used the 2 from the tyco rc tank that was used? the tracks come straight from the tyco rc tank.
thanks for the pics
i intend on making a custom replica, as i feel the mobat prototype is sleeker looking than the production one ( bow, tracks...)
